As part of this project, and based on the research undertaken in Elton et al. we identified the costs we incurred as part of this pipeline. The prices on this web page are based on the prices available to the Centre for Clinical Microbiology (UCL, UK), The Centre de Recherches Médicales de Lambaréné (Gabon), The Institute for Endemic Diseases (Sudan), HerpeZ (Zambia) and the Fondation Congolaise pour la Recherche Médicale (Republic of Congo) at the time. As of July 2023, 1.21 British Pound Sterling to the United States Dollar (USD), 601.50 Sudanese pounds to USD, 20.23 Zambian Kwacha to USD, 604.80 Central African Francs (Gabon and Republic of Congo) to USD.

Only reagents have been included, as equipment and operator costs are likely to vary between sites. The TapeStation could be substituted for gel electrophoresis to reduce costs.
