Zeukeng Francis

About: Currently, Francis Zeukeng serves as a Research Assistant at the Biotechnology Centre of the University of Yaounde I, and as Lecturer at the University of Buea in Cameroon. He obtained his BSc. Degree in Biochemistry in 2009 and his MSc. Degree in 2012 in Biotechnology and Development from the Biotechnology Centre of the University of Yaounde I, working on the epidemiology of concomitant infections between malaria and helminthiasis. He completed his Ph.D. Research Studies in 2018 in Biochemistry (specialty: Molecular Epidemiology of Infectious Diseases) between the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA-Benin) and the Biotechnology Centre of the University of Yaounde I (Cameroon). He is mainly working on Neglected and emerging infectious diseases of Public Health importance including Buruli ulcer, soil-transmitted helminthiasis and malaria. Francis Zeukeng is a young and motivated investigator that is contributing to the increase of the well-being of Africans against neglected and emerging infectious diseases. Between 2010 and 2019, he has attended and contributed to more than 20 national and international scientific conferences and workshops in different countries across the world. He has already been supported by 2 young investigator research grants from outstanding international organizations, and he is the author of 16 peer-reviewed published research articles. Overall, Francis Zeukeng is a pluri-disciplinary young investigator who has been trained on several fields of study and is mainly specialized in Molecular Epidemiology of Infectious Diseases. Francis Z. values independence and avoids self-sufficiency, and he believes that, Africans should trust and valorize research to ascertain the well-being of the populations and promote the development of the continent.
